Long time no see.
Sorry. Uhm a lot of things has happened. I changed family shortly after last update. I just looooove it here in my new family. They have two daughters, but both of them are exchangestudents themselves right now.  But they will come during the summer. Yeah it's freaking summer down here and I'm melting. But I still prefer the heat over the cold. I got a christmas package from my family back home. With a lot of christmaspresents. And yet, I still don't believe it's christmas soon. It's just way too hot for that. My christmaschocolate is melting!
My new family has taken me to the first wedding in my life. It was so much fun!
It is now summerbrak for me. I will have summerbreak until the end of january I think. So now I'm just enjoying the no school life.
Tchau from the heat.

Went on a Rotary trip the 28.10.11 to Pantanal e Bonito. It was epic!!
Dianas parents drove me, Evan and Diana to São Paulo where we met all the others. Then we got on the trip bus. And off we went. We drove the hole day, had a noght in Campo Grande and then we drove half of the day again. That was some looooooong hours in the bus. When we arrived to the hotel in Bointo we put our bags in our rooms and changed to bikinis. Then we went river rafting. It was so much fun! Even though it wasn't that wild. But it was fun, we had waterfights between the boats and we lost our bucket twice and someone from one of the other boats stole one of our paddles once. I started out with sharing room with another danish girl, a girl from Italy and a girl from Canada. But the last two were in the other bus so they left us thursday morning. We went out to a forrest place Sunday, we swam and walked and swam some more. We even jumped out from 6 metres. And yes, I did it too! I also tried to hold a snake that day. It felt really weird! At night we went downtown.
We tried tubing at Monday, that was so much fun! And we went on a tree walk after lunch. We were walking over the forrest. It was a bit difficult in the end. My group played volleyball and football while we were waiting for the other group to do the tree thing. I actually tried both! And I sucked at both... But at least I tried. We had a party for us exchangers at the hotel that night. It was a lot of fun and you got to see how people from different countries danced.
The people from the other bus were gone when we got up Tuesday. We went to a place where you can snorkle in a really clear river and see all the fish there. It was cool, until I started thinking about the movie "Piranhas" That kinda ruined everything... We went to give some presents to some orphans after lunch. That was really interesting and it was nice to see them happy. We got 2 new roomies, one from Italy again and one from Mexico. We went downtown again after dinner.
We went to a cave with a really blue lake. It was sooooo prettyyyyyy! But I really suck at climbing up and down rocks. That I know for sure now. I got my legs "tattooed" after dinner. I let one girl from Austria write on my leg and all of a sudden my legs went blue. It took me 3 days to get it off me. But it was fun though.
We went to a farm in Pantanal thursday. It was fun. They had a pool there. The water in that pool was soooo disgusting and dirty. But we stayed there a lot. Because it was so freaking hot in Pantanal. Then my group went horseback riding. That was pretty even though I had some problems with my horse. But I got to see the sunset there, So prettyyyy. We went camping after dinner. There was a lot of bugs.... I hate bugs.... But we had a camp fire and we cooked bananas and rolled them in cinnamon. It was good. Then we slept in tents. I slept on the ground in the tent. That was hard. We got up at 6 and then I got to see the sun rise too. Pretty.
We went on a safari after breakfest. But I didn't see that many animals. And we fished for piranhas after lunch. I caught 6! So proud of myself. Some of us went swimming in the ppol after that. I became green! That was fun! I used a whole soap and 30 minutes in the shower to get not green again.
Then I used my weekend in the bus. Saying goodbye to everybody. It was pretty sad. And I was sooooo tired!
But it was an amazing trip and I now have more friends all over the world!

hup

Ok almost a month since i last wrote here... Sorry. Big news! I'll change family in November, so that is quite exciting. And guess what! I'll go on a Rotary trip on friday! Pantanal e Bonito here i come. With Diana and Evan and around 30 other exchangestudents! It is going to be great. But before I can go I really need to find a way to come to São Paulo, so we can actually join the trip. It is really difficult because we don't wanna pay for a hotel and the buses don't leave at the right time.... It really sucks big time. And we are going in only a couple of days. No stress at all. Or something like that. God I'm really stressed out because of that. And I can't even do anything about it because the others aren't online, and I really need to talk with them ot my parents has to talk with their parents. I just wanna scream sometimes. But when I arrive I'll have an amazing time! I'm sure about that. So I just have to get over this fase.
I found out I have less money than expected.... That was a big chock! But made my budget math and decided I'm still able to survive and have a good time. I just can't go to much shopping. Which sucks because I kinda need clothes. But it is sooooooooo expensive downhere! I really miss H&M and Deichmann... Just saying.
Another problem is that with all the different languages I'm speaking right now, it's becoming difficult to talk the languages right. So some of my conversations sounds quite funny. And my spelling is awefull! In case you haven't noticed. So sorry if you can't understand what I have been writing.
Went to a party last friday. That was a lot of fun! Even sober. Haha. Some people are really fun when they are drunk!
Hmmm will write about the trip when I return. Tchau.

Ok, so it's been a little while since I last wrote here. Sorry 'bout that. Things has been really relaxed around here. Not doing a lot. going to school, study some portuguese there, go home have lunch. maybe sit and chat with people from home or here. Or hanging out with my friends. We go the the club quite often. I have started to axé with Karley and maybe Diana. But she hasn't really been there yet, so I don't know.
I have now been here for two months... It's amazing how fast they went by! And a bit scairy. But it has to mean that I'm enjoying this place. I think that I'll change family soon. Around November and December. That's gonna be interesting.
I have now started to keep a diary. It's really nice, 'cause then I'll always remember the stuff i write in there.
It is really difficult to learn portuguese, I'm learning it really slow, and that's really frustrating! 'Cause I really wanna be a part of a normal conversation! But in class I'm reading a book... In portuguese... Understand around half of it, so I'm a bit lost. But I hope I'll understand more soon!
Saturday I went to my first big brazilian party. It was amazing! Even though I'm not allowed to drink...
We danced all night and got home a bit past 5 am. I was soooooo tired!
But I looooved it!
Hmm... don't know what else to write... so tchau!

Weekends 17/18 - 24/25 September 2011

Last Saturday, the 17th., I went with Rotary to Expobrasil in Holambra. It is some kind of flower festivalthing or something like that, in a town that was build by immigrants from Holland/Netherlands. I was walking with Kira from America and Lara, who's a Rotex, and we didn't find that many flowers. I mostly saw people everywhere I was looking. Hmm the curse of being short. But according to other exchangestudents fotos, we were the only ones who couldn't find any freaking flowers. But we had a good time. Then we saw some people on a stage dance the dutch clog dance, and some of the other exchangers started on dancing themselves, and then this old lady started dancing with them. It was so crazy and fun. afterwoulds we were going to participate in a parade. With our blazers on. In 30 degrees. That was freaking hot! But as you can read, I survived, and we went home and were really tired.
Wednesday me and Karley went to the gym, swimming, ballet and axé. it was so much fun. I can really recommend axé, you dance and laugh a lot. And it was really nice actually doing some workout for once. I'm going there again soon. I hope.
Then this Saturday, 24th., It was my littlesisters birthday. She turned 14. But I was in São Paulo all day with the Rotex people. We went to some historical / cultural places in downtown São Paulo. It was a lot of fun, because we were more than 50 exchangers and everybody could talk with everybody. That's one of the most amazing parts of being an exchangestudent, when you meet other exchangestudents you can just talk, like you were old friends.
We had to get up before 5 am... Thats not possible for any sane human! But we did it. and then me, Karley and Diana had a sleep over at Karleys falmilys little weekend kinda house up in the hills (mountins for me, but my hostbrother told me it was hills before he left) and then we just lay besides the pool all sunday. Just chilling and resting. And I only got a little red.
Tchau.

The driving

The driving down here is seriously crazy!
Everybody drive like they own the road kinda and it's like they don't really respect the speed limit. The only thin that forces them to almost keep the speedlimit is the really random placed speedbumps. They are really annoying, but at least they keep people from driving to crazy. And they rarely use the seatbelt! And the motorbike people are even worse! They just drive in and out and around and everywhere on the road. The only reason they stop is because of red light the few places i have seen such thing! And today I almost got hit by a car crossing the street... Or it was like 1 meter from me... but still! I dont dare crossing the streets down here alone... And the sidewalks are awful down here. Its up and down and broken and a lot of different things. And the other day i was walking on the kerb, 'cause the sidewalk was really broken and I didn't want to walk on the road, and then I slipped so now it hurts to wear anything but hawaianas..
Ok a bit about the cars... Every tenth car I see is some kind of VW, mostly golf or gol or beatle. Both my hostparents has a VW so when I'm waiting to get picked up I'm looking for a VW, so its like uhh a VW, nope not that one, uhh a VW, nope not that one, etc. until one of them actually show up.
Tchau!
