Last Saturday, the 17th., I went with Rotary to Expobrasil in Holambra. It is some kind of flower festivalthing or something like that, in a town that was build by immigrants from Holland/Netherlands. I was walking with Kira from America and Lara, who's a Rotex, and we didn't find that many flowers. I mostly saw people everywhere I was looking. Hmm the curse of being short. But according to other exchangestudents fotos, we were the only ones who couldn't find any freaking flowers. But we had a good time. Then we saw some people on a stage dance the dutch clog dance, and some of the other exchangers started on dancing themselves, and then this old lady started dancing with them. It was so crazy and fun. afterwoulds we were going to participate in a parade. With our blazers on. In 30 degrees. That was freaking hot! But as you can read, I survived, and we went home and were really tired.
Wednesday me and Karley went to the gym, swimming, ballet and axé. it was so much fun. I can really recommend axé, you dance and laugh a lot. And it was really nice actually doing some workout for once. I'm going there again soon. I hope.
Then this Saturday, 24th., It was my littlesisters birthday. She turned 14. But I was in São Paulo all day with the Rotex people. We went to some historical / cultural places in downtown São Paulo. It was a lot of fun, because we were more than 50 exchangers and everybody could talk with everybody. That's one of the most amazing parts of being an exchangestudent, when you meet other exchangestudents you can just talk, like you were old friends.
We had to get up before 5 am... Thats not possible for any sane human! But we did it. and then me, Karley and Diana had a sleep over at Karleys falmilys little weekend kinda house up in the hills (mountins for me, but my hostbrother told me it was hills before he left) and then we just lay besides the pool all sunday. Just chilling and resting. And I only got a little red.
Tchau.

The driving
The driving down here is seriously crazy!
Everybody drive like they own the road kinda and it's like they don't really respect the speed limit. The only thin that forces them to almost keep the speedlimit is the really random placed speedbumps. They are really annoying, but at least they keep people from driving to crazy. And they rarely use the seatbelt! And the motorbike people are even worse! They just drive in and out and around and everywhere on the road. The only reason they stop is because of red light the few places i have seen such thing! And today I almost got hit by a car crossing the street... Or it was like 1 meter from me... but still! I dont dare crossing the streets down here alone... And the sidewalks are awful down here. Its up and down and broken and a lot of different things. And the other day i was walking on the kerb, 'cause the sidewalk was really broken and I didn't want to walk on the road, and then I slipped so now it hurts to wear anything but hawaianas..
Ok a bit about the cars... Every tenth car I see is some kind of VW, mostly golf or gol or beatle. Both my hostparents has a VW so when I'm waiting to get picked up I'm looking for a VW, so its like uhh a VW, nope not that one, uhh a VW, nope not that one, etc. until one of them actually show up.
Tchau!

intro weekend with D-4430 and D-4590
This weekend i went to an introweekend for exchangestudents in district 4430 and 4590. We live in a hotel in Atibaia or something like that... It was so freaking awesome!!!
we came at around 5 pm friday and we all checked in and went to our rooms with our bagage, I was not going to live with Diana and Karley, but that was ok cause then I got to talk with other people. When we had put our bagage in pur room we went into a room with some other students and talked with them and exchanged cards and pins. Then we went down to the reception and ssaid hi to all the new commers and bombed them with cards and pins, it was quite funny, cause some of them didn't even get a chance to get the key before we stuck our card in their hands. Then we had a couple of hours or so to talk with eachother. Then we had to go eating and after eating we were going to our first lecture kinda thing... Don't know what to call it, but we all sit and listen to men talking abput rules and rights and other important stuff... And in this hotel there was a pool so a lot of us wanted to go swimming afterwoods but it ended to late so we just relaxed and went to bed at around midnight. I had two roomies one from New York and one from Taiwan, they were really nice.
We got up at around 7 and took a really nice shower and had breakfest at 8, then we were going to listen to some more important stuff, then we had lunch and after lunch we went swimming for half an hour or so, then we listent to some more important stuff and at around 7 or so, I don't really remember when, we had dinner, in the evening we were talking with rotex people down here, they are so cool, two of them had been to Denmark, and one of them could still talk danish! That was cool. We went to bed at around 01.00.
Sunday we got up at 7 again and took a shower again. Got breakfest at 8 and went to listen to some more important stuff. We were supposed to hear about the trips Rotary make for us, but the guy who was telling about it didn't arrive so we had extra freetime! and we went swimming again. YAY!
Me, Karley and Diana was picked up at around 3 and were home at around 5. And it has been a really awesome weekend with awesome people. I can't wait to see them again the 17. September.
